So what is String Generator Pro (SGP) ?
SGP is a tool for all you boys & girls who have to handle with structurated text, e.g. programming source code like Pascal, C, C++, Basic, JavaScript, Java, HTML. SGP is also very useful when you want fast and simply to build a table or a report or when you want to numerize something.

The big diffrent between SGP and an normal text-editor, that SGP is not able to edit any text, instead of this you are generating the text you need.

OK, let's make a little example of that. In our example we want to write this text:

Box 1 contains ____ PowerMacs
Box 2 contains ____ PowerMacs
Box 3 contains ____ PowerMacs

Normaly, with a text editor, an advanced computer user types the first line ('Box 1 contains ____ PowerMacs') in the computer, then he copys this line to the clipboard, then he paste the text from the clipboard back two times and to finish up this he must edit the box-numbers.

With SGP we are working a little bit diffrent. Of course we are starting also to type in the computer the first line. But then we will replace the box-number with a SGP-command-pattern (in this case, the numerize command-pattern '#_NR_#'). All we have to do now, is to tell SGP how much lines we need and to press 'Generate string'. The results will be automaticly placed in your clipboard.

OK OK, maybe now your telling me 'quite nice, but to copy, paste & edit these lines in my text editor takes just some seconds'. Yes your right, but imagine, maybe you need to do not just 3 line, maybe you need 300 lines of this. Still just some seconds to copy, paste & edit? OK, you can use also programms like Microsoft Excel to do this, but I think this is like using a elephant to hit a bug (*grin* direct translated german saying).SGP is much smaller, it takes less memory, the time to launch SGP is very short (when you register *hint*), it uses very less screen size (through the minimize function), it has nice drag&drop support, also for dropping files and of course it has a lot of more features to build very diffrent type string.

For example, it a pleasure to create strings like this - because it's so easy:

Box 1
contains ____ PowerMacs
contains ____ 68K Macs
contains ____ DOS-PCs

Box 2
contains ____ PowerMacs
contains ____ 68K Macs
contains ____ DOS-PCs

Box 3
contains ____ PowerMacs
contains ____ 68K Macs
contains ____ DOS-PCs

or it is also possible to fill automaticly the lines with life (life: I did it one again - direct translated german *grin*), just drop a table for that in SGP:

contains 2 PowerMacs
contains 8 68K Macs
contains 6 DOS-PCs

contains 4 PowerMacs
contains 5 68K Macs
contains 3 DOS-PCs
